Below are some of the tasks that service dogs are used for.  I will build on this section as there are many more tasks to be included.  

 Task and Assistance Work:

  • Seeing Eye/Visual Assistance Dogs

  • Medical Alert Dogs

  • Severe Allergy Alert Dogs

  • Hearing Impaired Dogs

  • Brace/Mobility Support Dogs

  • Autism Assistance Dogs

  • Seizure Alert/Response Dogs

  • Diabetic Alert Dogs

  • Psychiatric Service Dogs

  • Wheelchair Assistance Dogs

  • Fears and Phobias

  • PTSD

Types of Scent Detection:

  • Diabetes 1

  • Diabetes 2 (harder to detect)

  • Hypoglycemia

  • Allergies (peanuts, other nuts, spices, fish, etc)

  • Gluten Allergies (celiac disease)

Pain Relief:

  • Fibromyalgia pain

  • Chronic pain

  • Arthritis or sciatica

  • Back pain
